Join us for a read-along with Gizmo and his friends! Gizmo supports the wellness of children through friendly and age-appropriate messaging focusing on youth's mental health. Registration required.
Enjoy a fun read-along designed for children in 1st through 5th grade featuring Gizmo, the adorable therapy dog, and his friends! In addition, children will have a chance to meet and greet several therapy dogs! There will also be some "pawesome" activities introducing children to feelings, thoughts, and healthy actions to protect and support their mental health as they learn and grow.
This special partnership program is brought to you by Dr. Dogs (Fun with Fideaux), the McNeese Kay Doré Counseling Clinic, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the Connecticut Suicide Advisory Board, and the Calcasieu Parish Public Library.
Parents and caregivers must register their children but do not need to register themselves. Adults must stay with their children during the program. Please call (337) 721-7170 for more information.

The Central Branch is in South Lake Charles and is the library system's main branch.
The location houses both the Central Branch and the library's administrative offices.
This location offers various seating locations throughout the building, public computers, laptops that can be checked out and used in the library, self-checkout stations, faxing, scanning, and printing services, study rooms, and several large sized community rooms.
