What is a Create & Make?
A Create & Make is a bookable creative space for patrons to use to learn new skills, make special crafts, or just enjoy a hobby away from home! Some library systems call them Makerspaces, Fab Labs, or Studios. CPPL currently has two Create & Make locations: Central Library and DeQuincy Library. Equipment and activities offered were chosen based on responses to a patron survey in 2023. They are listed below with links for more information and details.
Overview of Use Policy:
Key parts of the Use Policy are listed below, but patrons are responsible for reading the full Policy Guidelines before booking.
Please Note:
Staff instruction and guidance is primarily for operational and troubleshooting purposes. They will demonstrate machine or software use and explain what supplies and tools are available. For more specialized skills, such as project design or painting, they will provide suggested resources for self-instruction. Staff is unable to offer full one-on-one courses for certain activities. If needed, please contact the branch for any questions on what assistance can be provided for a specific activity.
How to Book:
A button to book a location's Create & Make may be found in the section for that branch below. A window will pop-up allowing you to select your preferred booking length, date, and time. Once these are selected, you will see the booking form. Please answer questions with as many details as possible, where relevant.
