Warren Perrin is a Louisiana-based lawyer and author with a doctorate in jurisprudence from Louisiana State University. He has written six books on French culture, including Une Saga Acadienne (2005), the first biography of Acadian exile Beausoleil Broussard. This work also chronicles his personal efforts to obtain an apology from the Queen of England for the Acadian deportation, culminating in the Royal Proclamation signed on December 9, 2003. Warren and Mary Perrin have co-authored 3 additional books: Acadie Then and Now, A People's History, and Seeking an Acadian Nation, the 1930 Diary of an Evangeline Girl.
Mary Perrin, co-author of Healing Traditions of South Louisiana is a Master Gardener. Along with being an author, Mary is a visual artist and former educator. She has worked in the collections of the National Museum for Women in the Arts in Washington, DC, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans, a branch of the Smithsonian, and the Louisiana State Museum.
In recognition of his contributions, Mr. Perrin was appointed a member of the National Order of Merit by French President Jacques Chirac in 1999.
