Join us for this rare opportunity to host a Library of Congress National Ambassador! Meg Medina is the recipient of many awards for her books including a Newbery Award. As Library of Congress' 2023-2024 National Ambassador for Young People's Literature, Meg is the first author of Latina heritage to hold this title. Meg will help raise awareness of the importance of young people's literature as it relates to lifelong literacy, education and the development and betterment of the lives of young people.

Located in South Lake Charles, this is the library system's main branch, housing both the library and administrative offices. Services include laptop checkouts, self-checkout stations, faxing, scanning, printing, study rooms, community rooms, and a creative space.
