World on the Move: 250,00 years of Human Migration was developed by the American Anthropological Association, together with the Smithsonian’s Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage and Smithsonian Exhibits. It is administered by the American Library Association’s Public Programs Office.
Developed as a public education initiative, World on the Move: 250,000 Years of Human Migration™, aims to change the public conversation about an important, yet difficult topic—migration and displacement.
Located in South Lake Charles, this is the library system's main branch, housing both the library and administrative offices. Services include laptop checkouts, self-checkout stations, faxing, scanning, printing, study rooms, community rooms, and a creative space.
