This month, Vinton's Adult Book Club will enjoy refreshments and discuss the suspenseful thriller "The Last One" by Will Dean. In this novel, Caz wakes on an exclusive cruise liner to find her partner missing. When she looks for him on the ship, she finds no passengers, no crew, nobody but her. Caz is the only person left aboard stranded in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
In 2020, the Fontenot Memorial Branch, named in honor of the late Jimmy Lee Fontenot of Vinton was damaged during the two hurricanes. Prior to 2020, the former Capital One building on Loree St. was purchased with plans to open a new Vinton Branch.
On Oct. 24, 2022, the new branch opened! In addition to offering the same services as the old location, this branch offers our first-ever drive-thru and gaming PCs, as well as a study room, a conference room, and a community room.
