This month, Vinton's Adult Book Club will enjoy refreshments and discuss the musical mystery "The Violin Conspiracy" by Brendan Slocumb. In this novel, Ray McMillian is pursuing his dream of becoming a professional musician with his great-grandfather's priceless Stradivarius. When his prized family heirloom is stolen, and people start claiming that the violin belongs to them, the chance that Ray can ever play with the violin again seems improbable.
In 2020, the Fontenot Memorial Branch, named in honor of the late Jimmy Lee Fontenot of Vinton was damaged during the two hurricanes. Prior to 2020, the former Capital One building on Loree St. was purchased with plans to open a new Vinton Branch.
On Oct. 24, 2022, the new branch opened! In addition to offering the same services as the old location, this branch offers our first-ever drive-thru and gaming PCs, as well as a study room, a conference room, and a community room.
